Before you download this file,,,,,,
I recommend making a new folder on your desktop.
In windows, right click anyplace on your desktop, click on
new/folder, and name it mirc.
Download the file to that folder, if you download it anywhere else
you may loose important files that go with.
Download Mirc,
Go to
download it, then install it..
Once you have installed it, run the program, when it
opens, this is what you have to do,,,,,,,,,,,,
 ( Yes I know, I have alot of icons. But that still don't
make me a junkie. ( ~¿0 )
find the folder icon on it that has a folder and a hammer.
click on it to open the options...
make sure connect is highlighted on the list...
you will see on the right,
Add, Edit, Delete, Sort...
click on Add in description you want to put
Surechat
in IRC you want to put Surechat.com
in port(s) you want to put 6667
in groups leave it blank in password,
put the password of
your screen name....
then click Add again...
then fill out the full name, the email address, then in nickname,
put your room nickname in it. then make an
alternative nick name then click ok..
once you have done that,
close mirc out then restart it...
make sure you are connecting to Surechat...
once you have done that and have logged on, click on the
fourth icon, it looks like a globe with a # and another pic on it...
that is your Channels Folder...
Delete everything in that,.. then click on Add..
put this in the channel
#The_Brainles_Zone
just the way I did it here..
then your password and in description put the word
Chat.... then click ok...
that will save it.. whenever you sign on your
channel list will come up,
all you have to do is double click on it and it will
bring you in the room...
When you connect, you may be asked for your password,
type this in the chatline
/pass
add a space, type your password in and hit enter.
Mirc is easier then the java and takes up less space and resources then Java...
Don't worry about all the other features, we will get to them later.
If you follow these directions very carefully, and have
a cable modem, dsl or other always on connection, this is the only thing
you will need open to chat.
Its like having your own private entrance to our chatroom.
